Sharing my business journey, advice and guidance, is a passion of mine. When I first started writing this blog it was all about business, but then I began opening up more & decided to share a side of me that might just relate to someone. As well as writing about outsourcing & delegation, you can also read more about my 'why' & my experience with mental health.

Introduction
As a business owner, you rely intrinsically on your motivation and energy levels. Your business depends on you making things happen. The trouble with motivation is that it can play hide and seek with us and can be harder to find than a unicorn on some days. When you lack motivation, you can question your abilities on whether you are really cut out for the CEO life? This should come easy to you, shouldn’t it?
The truth is, every business owner feels like this at some point in their journey. In this blog, we will look at the enigma of motivation and look at some valuable ways to reignite your inner fire when times feel tough.
Embrace the Ebb and Flow
Motivation’s fickleness can be frustrating, but it’s essential to remember that it’s only temporary. It’s the ebbs and flows. During those moments when your drive seems to have vanished, don’t be too hard on yourself. Instead, accept the natural rhythm of motivation and ride out the low moments with patience and resilience. Take a break if necessary, but always keep sight of your goals. Remember your inspiration will return.
Reflect on Your Journey
When the going gets tough, it’s easy to forget how far you’ve come. Take a moment to reflect on your journey as an entrepreneur. Look back at the challenges you’ve conquered, the milestones you’ve achieved, and the obstacles you’ve overcome. Your past successes are a testament to your capabilities and determination. Remind yourself that you’ve navigated through difficulties before and are stronger and more resilient than you might realise. This reflection will help you rediscover your confidence and find the motivation to tackle current hurdles.
Seek Inspiration from Others
Entrepreneurship can be a lonely road, but you are not alone in facing motivational challenges. Surround yourself with like-minded individuals who understand the ups and downs of the journey.
Connect with other business owners, share your experiences, and seek inspiration from those who have triumphed over obstacles similar to yours. Engaging with a supportive community can uplift your spirits and provide valuable insights and encouragement. Remember, reaching out to others is a sign of strength, not weakness.
Create a Vision Board or Visual Inspiration
Creating a vision board can be an incredibly powerful motivator. Why not create a visual inspiration collage representing your goals and aspirations? Gather images, quotes, or symbols that resonate with your vision for your business and personal growth. These can vary from your big long-distance dreams to the smaller ones you could achieve soon.
Display your collage in your workspace or somewhere you will see it frequently. Whenever you feel demotivated, take a few moments to look at your board and let the images or words remind you of the bigger picture. Visualising your dreams and seeing them come to life on the board can give you a renewed sense of purpose and determination.
Conclusion
As an CEO, you can whether the storms. Embrace the ebb and flow, knowing that inspiration will return. Reflect on your achievements to remind yourself how great you are at what you do (because you really are). And most importantly, seek inspiration and support from your business friends.
Remember, motivation is not a constant for anyone, and it’s OK to have moments of doubt. The key is to stay focused on your goals, remain persistent, and keep moving forward, even when it feels harder to find than a unicorn.
