Sharing my business journey, advice and guidance, is a passion of mine. When I first started writing this blog it was all about business, but then I began opening up more & decided to share a side of me that might just relate to someone. As well as writing about outsourcing & delegation, you can also read more about my 'why' & my experience with mental health.

Values are at the corner of everything, in life and business. One of my values is communication and it’s reflected across every element of my business. In my opinion, it is the foundation of any successful business.
As a small business owner, I’ve come to understand that clear communication and well-defined boundaries are the most important tools, especially as a Virtual Assistant who works so closely within other businesses.
I want to share exactly why I value communication so highly in this blog post. I’ll explore how clear communication can build trust, boost efficiency, and help small businesses thrive.
The Power of Communication
The Executives Suite is known for it’s high level of communication, from the initial client meeting to onboarding to ongoing project updates. Clear and open communication ensures that everyone is on the same page and for expectations to be clear from the get go.
I believe in being transparent and honest with my clients; whether it’s discussing project timelines, budget considerations, or potential challenges, I make it a priority to keep the lines of communication open at all times.
This is something I believe all my clients value greatly.
Communication Avoids Any Misinterpretation
One of the biggest challenges that comes from a lack of communication is the potential for misinterpretation. Without clear and concise communication, messages can easily be misunderstood, leading to confusion and frustration on both sides. That’s why I believe in over-communicating rather than under-communicating. Myself and the team will keep you informed every step of the way, ensuring that there are no misunderstandings or misconceptions.
Setting Boundaries
In addition to clear communication, setting boundaries is equally important; I’m a stickler for boundaries in my life and business.
Boundaries help establish expectations and prevent misunderstandings before they occur. Whether it’s defining project scope, outlining working hours, or clarifying payment terms, setting boundaries allows both parties to operate effectively.
I’m always upfront and honest about my boundaries from the outset, and I use my systems and processes to help clarify these boundaries from the offset. For example, during the onboarding process it’s clear in my forms my working hours, how my clients can contact me and how long they can expect for me to reply.
Communication Helps to Maintain Control
For many business owners, maintaining control is essential. A lot of the business owners I support are initially worried about losing the grip on their business when they start outsourcing. But, I can assure them that I’ll be there every step of the way, delivering effective, open and honest communication so that there is no need to worry.
My clients’ are able to feel in control of the areas they excel in, whilst myself and the team handle the rest.
Honesty is the Best Policy
When it comes to communication, honesty is always the best policy. Rather than sweeping issues under the rug or avoiding difficult conversations, I believe in addressing them head-on. This isn’t always easy and it’s definitely something that I’ve learned along the way.
Open and honest communication fosters trust and accountability, laying the groundwork for strong and lasting business relationships.
Conclusion:
In conclusion, effective communication and boundaries are essential components of any successful business. I’m proud that these are both key values at The Executives Suite that have been intentionally incorporated into every stage of our operations.
By prioritising clear communication, setting boundaries, and maintaining honesty and transparency, you can navigate the complexities of business with confidence and control.
If you’re looking for support in your business, ensure that whoever you work with can offer this high level of communication.
